When I first checked in 9/2014 I had the two macaws in my profile pic......after alot of hard work and endless nights of trying to decide what was best for the Scarlett he is now living with a bird trainer and seems to be so much happier. I had gone as far as I could with him-he learned to tolerate me but that was about it-couldn't take your eye off him for a second or he would bite-hard! The trainer & I did a trade...he had someone bring him a blue n gold female-she hates men & was very unhappy-the minute she came into my home she turned into a love bug....she is a plucker but getting so much better..
side note-must go explore how to post pics.
Yahoo...I did it..lol this is Bella formally Bojangles which she didn't know that was her name so I started calling her BoBella by the second day she was saying Bella is a good bird.

Well, I think you have lots of people who DO listen and if you can teach one/two or share your story which may save one bird from what you have go through every day, it might be worth it.

They are beautiful birds, I just love that picture.

I can honestly say that I'm pretty much hanging on every word of advice that @Hankmacaw has given to me, or has yet to give. It isn't easy for me to know exactly what to belive when I research something the vet may say about Syd...but finding someone who is (unfortunately) so knowledgeable because they have been thru it, and are still going thru it, has been somewhat of a godsend for me.

I'm glad I stumbled across this message board...literally. I like that it feels like home here
