I know, like major exposure therapy! He normally only flies short bursts and it's currently very hot and humid here, so poor buddy tried to marathon it with no training.

That's what I asked! Galahad is afraid of absolutely everything. The guy stuck his hand out and he stepped up, I guess he was pretty exhausted! Visibly so!

That may have happened because he knows human contact means food. That’s how my fiancé’s found a budgie. The bird just flew to him. So happy you both were reunited! Such a beautiful ending!

That's such awesome news. I'd be hysterical too and I was when we lost Lurch. I climbed two trees to try and get him.
Pippen flew to the first open door and right on the first person she found as well.
She was cuddling on his shoulder when we went to get her and had been with him 3 hours. I grabbed her after some quick talk and put her in the carrier with food. She was like FOOD! you guys talk, busy... and started chowing down. I got her out in the car and she had a lot of water then cuddled into my neck on my shoulder and got scritches.
So glad everything worked out for everyone

Goes to show you a bird that has only know human care really does not want to be outside flying around with predators trying to find food & water. Sad for those who never make it back home.

Oh I definitely knew he didn't want to be outside, it's just their fear can work against them. He's afraid of so much, but I think he was so exhausted that he just accepted a human finally. It feels surreal to me!

Fear can work against all of us. Sometimes fear can keep us from danger but too much can be debilitating.

I don't want to speak too soon, but he seems calmer... Prior to his outdoor adventure/nightmare he was very anxious.

Quite possibly his "adventure " made him realize that his home really is a safe place.

Hi I’m so sorry to hear your feathered friend escaped. I can definitely relate to how your feeling. May he come back home ASAP. I lost my soon to be 8 year old Ekkie a few months back but thank God found him. Don’t give up hope
