Hi all,
Haven't been on in a while, hope all the birdies are doing well! I'm officially working from home permanently and wanted to upgrade my set up. What do those who have flighted birds in their office space think of mesh vs leather chairs? Looking for insight re: material, cleaning, comfort, and durability. Based in US.

I need an office chair as I've been informally using a barstool at my sit stand desk for like a year or two. Ideally, I want a reclining office chair with a foot rest that allows me to sit criss-cross. I'd love the chair to at least be sort of cute (because the only space I have is in my bedroom) so I'm thinking color options are pretty light (like white, pink, green, yellow, orange, or tan caramel leather) which presents another challenge. My bird is mostly flying around my room with me while I work so I need the chair to be poop proof/easy to wipe clean, and bird friendly. Would love to do a mesh chair but I feel like that's a recipe for disaster but wanted to see if I'm wrong. I haven't found anything cute in leather at a price below $300.

yes someone recommended this to me also and I like the idea. Would you mind sharing links to ones you've bought in the past? When I search office chair covers on amazon I mostly get cushions as a result.

Definitely go for something to cover the chair. Then you can buy a chair that is comfortable for you to sit in to work.
You can cover the chair with literally anything you have.

A simple solution!!! Just on the back? Is it comfortable for you to sit there with?
Yes, I use a towel to cover both sides of the back. I really can't tell it is even there while sitting. My chair has vinyl arms so they are easily cleanable if they get hit by bird poo. For awhile, I had a high back chair and used a beach towel, on my standard chair, a reg bath towel works.
I don't put anything down on the seat anymore as it never gets hit.

my husband has actually taken an old t shirt and put it on his chair. It works well and is easily washable. (I personally think he just didn't want to throw out the t shirt but hey it works against birds and cats....

Easy enough, thanks!

Okay I am obsessed with your signature. And I love that solution because it's sustainable also! Thanks!
