We have decided to have Bits put down. There's a company that will send a vet to your home so it will peaceful and not stressful for him. We have an appointment set up for Friday the 18th. He was my brother's dog first so he's coming up which is why it's on a Friday. Its a little odd to have to wait this long but the 18th was the first Friday that would for all of us. Plus I like having time to to process the idea and spend some quality time with him.
The last year and a half or so has been pretty rocky for Bits. But he managed to bounce back. He got pancreatitis last summer and he had to be on many different medications, thankfully he got over that pretty well. But this summer in May he was diagnosed with Kidney Disease and his health took a real turn for the worse. He could barely walk. And I managed to injured my arm pretty bad because I was lifting Bits up so much. We really thought we were going to lose him then. A week later my dad had to have emergency surgery and ended up passing away a week after. I haven't talked about much as it still hard to process everything. But May was very stressful.
Bits' health has never fully bounced back since May but he remains pretty happy. But now his bad days are starting to outweighed his good days. He has lots of pain meds to keep him comfortable but we are constantly afraid he'll take a bad fall and really injured himself. He's been falling quite abit lately. He can't do stairs anymore and he's lost alot weight. And has a couple of bad falls recently too.
He turned 16 on October 1st and has been a really good dog. It's gonna be so weird not to have him around. But there will be alot treats and cuddle until then. Here's some of my favorite pictures of him
