Today we installed our air conditioning (type that goes in window) just to find that it isn't working.

It has regularly been 80° Fahrenheit inside of the house, and whenever I let Kiwi and Blizzard out, they start holding out their wings and panting after flying a short distance. What can I do to help them cool off until we do something about the air conditioning?

They also pant in the cage sometimes if they were just jumping around a lot.

You could make sure they have water available to bathe in. (If their not the bathing type, you could mist them).

Use a regular fan to stir the air. I've used them for years. You don't want them blowing directly on your birds, but in their general direction is OK as long as they are across the room.

Blizzard already bathed in her water bowl today, and Kiwi had a small dip in water cuped in my hands at the sink, they always have a bowl of water available (usually replaced 3 times a day because they're messy lol)

We have the windows next to their cage open (a little breeze comes in) and we have a standing fan, but I assume the fan would be too much if it was pointed at them.

Wet birds in very hot weather also lose the insulation their feathers offer them.
It can actually make them hotter as they can't fluff their feathers to cool themselves off.

Thanks! I'll try this out and see how they like it. They've been taking a lot of naps recently because it's so hot (87 outside, high of 89)
