Jacob is at the vet (heartbreaking update post #145)

I hope they figure it out and find a way to get him better. I am SO sorry.

When I lost my old boy Fagan, just before the budgie boys came along, we all thought he just had a cough.. when it didn't get better with meds, it turned out a tumor had ruptured somewhere inside and his chest was slowly filling with blood. They drained all the fluid and told me he'd probably be good for about a week but that there wasn't much else to be done, but he was bad again within a day and we ended up at the ER for euthanasia.

It's so horrible and no one can make you feel better... but I hope at least you know you are doing EVERYTHING you can, and I hope it gives you some comfort that you've had time to try all the possible treatments. I really hope one of them works

When we had to put our beloved Greyhound down after 3wk of intravenous feedings... I overheard the vet saying... "heck of a way to begin the weekend"... and I interrupted saying... "NO... you are helping 'her' and us"...

Omg I haven't checked in on this in a few days and I'm gutted for you, your partner, and Jacob

My cat Jasmine I had a similar experience. She wasn't eating a lot, was losing what she did eat, and then ballooned over night. Her abdomen was full of cancerous cells from a tumor hiding in her intestines. We went from worried to saying goodbye in three days.

Long hand way of saying I sympathize with the way you are feeling right now it's the absolute worse thing losing a dear furry family member. We don't get near enough time with them.
