Thank you so much for all of your thoughtful and loving words. I am so thankful and touched that you knew Sneaky Pete and that he was loved far beyond our birdy little home I can’t express enough how much it means to me that he is a part of our community.

Life without him has been hard and brutal, but it’s progressing. I smile with tears in my eyes and have managed to stop crying every time I look at Lemon. I was right - I absolutely was frightening Lemon, our relationship has improved immensely as I’ve transitioned more into accepting our world without our Pete. I will always be blessed with the experience to have known him, and to love my sweet Pete. I am so happy to have brought Lemon into his life. As much as we loved each other, the bond between them made my heart swell every time I looked at them. It was something special and something I couldn’t have given him myself. I am a better person because of Pete. I did not get the lifetime I wanted, but nothing can take away the time I had with Sneaky Pete, nor can any stretch of time diminish his home in my heart. I miss him more than words can say, but more than that, I love him.

This video I have probably watched a thousand times in the past few days. What a perfect memory. Thank you for this, thank you for everything, cuore mio

You are too sweet I am doing alright, better now that I finally got my internet up and running! Now I can pull all my digital memories from the cloud and Lemon is doing better every day. I think we both just needed a moment to grieve and process. He stopped eating and scared me, but is eating and drinking again.

Loss is never easy. There is no childhood training.. loss is loss.

thank you for this..I always repeated it back, and am doing so again. It’s good to have calls of Sneaky Pete! permeating the air, honoring our Sneaky angel. It’s weirdly comforting to know that I’m not missing some rubric for how to grieve a loved one. Unifying, in that none of us know what we’re doing as we struggle through loss.

I am seeing this more in every single day! I guess our hearts don’t get torn to shreds until we die (good lord that’s depressing!) but are refilled constantly by those who love us too. This is a very fitting lesson to learn through Pete, the one I called “my heart”
