I Hit The Road To Meet A Roadie!

This Saturday I am driving to South FL to meet Susanne{srtiels} and bring home my new addition to the flock~ A Blue Naped Mousebird!I will need a great name for him, so any help there is appreciated. Susanne has been gracious enough to allow me to post her pics of him. Would you like to see him?
Oh and this time I am bringing my camera...none of this "oh I dont want my picture taken today stuff"{STEVO}

Most of my experience is with cockatiels. I'm just a couple years new to mousebirds.

Thank you everyone! Susanne, that may be true{the part about just having kept them a few years} BUT, it is clear you take very good care of your babies. That is what matters most.

Carole...I am their food slave...LOL!

Oh...some things to bring:

A cooler. I will give you some of each type of food he is used to eating. Enough for a few days. During your trip home he will get very CRANKY if he doesn't have something to munch on.

Can you post a pix of the carrier you will be bringing? You might want to add a swifter for him to snuggle against. And if it has a solid bottom I'll add some sand. He is going to cry and whistle a mournful song, which is his contact call, when he leaves so the carrier will have to be where you can reach in and pet him. He's a sucker for neck rubs The contact call may go on for several days until he gets used to his new home. This is the ideal time to spoil him rotton

Today we have to go to Home Depot for a bag of Play Sand. Bring a container and I'll also give you a supply of sand.

And remind me to give you some fuzzy peacock feathers...he used to love to play with them.
