I don't have any, sorry but I think they are incredible looking, I've only ever seen one live. It's really neat to see how they move and such. If I ad a big aviary I would have a couple!
no I have never seen one...I think they are incredible t hough..are they tameable?? t hey sure are cute.
Thank you so much for the pictures!
would love to learn more about them!
I use Purslane from my yard in the summer in my birds food...they love it!

It is great for humans to eat also...
Anne...yes if they are handfed they can be very loving. They can become velcro birds.
What is really interesting is how fast they develop. An egg hatches in 11 days from the time layed. Once hatched they grow fast and by 10 days old fully feathered (just the tail still growing out) and will fledge from the nest.
I don't have a mousebird, but i met one once! The person who had my plummie was breeding mousebirds. The mousebird was full of personality, and very entertaining. But I thought I remembered the guy telling me that they eat weird things, like pinky mice?
Tell us more!!![]()

YUK!!! No...maybe he said mealworms? My white-backed mousers love them but the red-faced and blue-napes turn up their beaks. The bulk of their diet is fruit...and boy can they chow downAnd after eating they love their sand baths...
Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures!
So cute!![]()
