HELP! ESCAPE (update #16 Home safe!)

partner was taking the dogs out and kimchi went through the door. I can hear her, but I can’t see her, starting to panic. It’s starting to cold. I called the city control and fire department and no one will come out. I don’t know what else to do. Brought Tteok out to call for her and she answer but I can't find her. What do I do I'm in full panic

Oh no! Play sounds you know she'll react to or if she has a favorite snack bring that out and crinkle the packaging. Put her cage outside with the doors open and her food and favorite toys in full view.
I hope so much that she'll be safely back home soon.

I don't think she'd see it too many shrub on the ground. Asking neighbors for ladder

If you can hear her and she can hear you keep moving around the area and calmly calling until you can locate her or she locates you visually.

Ask your partner or neighbours to do the same, but then when she's located, ensure her favourite human, treats, toy can be seen.

If she's in a high location, ensure you keep some distance so a downward descent feels safer for her.

Enlisted three neighbors. We have the house surrounded. Still can't see her, only occasional chirps. Waiting for someone with a ladder. City literally said "sorry it's not our problem" verbatim.

She's probably hunkered down trying to stay warm and not call attention to herself while she figures out what's going.

What is your most vocal bird? Maybe they can encourage her to start vocalizing again.

I brought Tteok and Tito out, she wouldn't answer them. I had to take them back in because it's cold

I would spend the evening posting in local lost pet groups on Facebook and making fliers that can be distributed to the neighbourhood, as well as local vets, pet stores and animal shelters.

911 Parrot Alert has a large membership on Facebook and I've used that in the past to help a friend in this situation.

Got the ladder she's not on the roof that can be seen. Checked gutters. Can't find her

Oh no I'm sorry!! I hope you can get eyes on her soon!!

Local lawn care guys around here have a cherry picker and were happy to help get an African Grey out of a tree in the last few weeks here. Worth throwing a post up on Facebook if someone would be willing to help out with ladders (paint companies, etc) or cherry picker if you can spot her.

Remember that birds are more resilient than we give them credit for.

It's hard, but focus on the steps.

Worrying about the weather and other things beyond your control won't help.

Anecdotally, there have been birds lost here in Canada in the winter which are found and returned home safely.

Don't lose hope.

Oooooo buddy. That was stressful. 109% do not recommend.

For the finer details, in case anyone else has something happen: she was in the kitchen with me, when my partner opened the door to take the dogs out. She shot out the door and across the street.

IF YOUR BIRD IS CLIPPED, IT CAN STILL FLY.

She came to me clipped extremely short, and now a couple months later they've just started growing back enough for a good flutter. She caught the breeze and was gone.

yes my neighborhood has a clipped GCC escape, was recovered almost 4 miles away!
