I don't mind nippiness as long as he is full of personality!

There will be no shortage of that! You have a great mindset for a Hahns. You're in for a lot of fun.

I totally agree :) This is the right attitude, and it will stand you in good stead to enjoy your little one.

Occasionally, Hahn's even though they are weaned can revert a little bit when they arrive at their new home. We experienced this with Paddington and I know Joanna experienced it a little with Mia, too. We ended up spoon feeding Paddington bird formula a couple of times a day for a month or two and occasionally every other day or so for a month or two after that. He has not begged for a hand feeding for a long time now. The last time was when we was just getting some red on his wings.

It's usually a good idea to at least know where to get formula and a syringe, just in case and also to offer warm comfort foods such as cooked sweet potato, oatmeal, etc just in case for when they are settling in.

I do not have hand feeding supplies or anything and don't know how to do it, but he is suppose to be weaned, and if he needs to be I have a friend who has handfed birds and can help me.

Even if he is weaned, for the next few months you will have to crack the nuts for him...his beak wont be that stong to do it on his own..:)

Congrats on your new baby :):dance5:
