Ah, or-kids. I have a greenhouse full of them and two flasks needing to be compotted if we say anything further, we’ll have to move to another thread
Lol. Pickles looks like he's contemplating what he has a better chance of doing...getting outside or attacking your plant. Pretty little one thoughMy orchids are my OTHER babies. Too bad Pickles thinks they're his personal buffet. Turd.
I am well! Thank you for asking! Marley is precious and beautiful. I'm glad to hear he's coming along so well. I don't think there are many birds who care to be locked up. I do think it can be a good thing for them to spend some time in their cage should something happen to you ( God forbid) and suddenly they're locked up more than they're accustomed to. It can be special play time for the with shreddables, foraging time, or special treat time so it doesn't seem so much like punishment but instead something good they look forward to. Keep your pellets in a separate cup from the smart seed..... and only put the smart seed in his cage when he's locked in his cage. Mine are all to happy to go in their cages on their own when they get some seed.I've had my pineapple green cheek,Marley, for around for a month now and he is coming along so well. I don't think he got much love from the breeders but is now my snuggle buddy lol. He's eating Zupreem naturals mixed with a small amount of Zupreem smart seed. Marley is also fine with fresh or freeze dried veggies. He now flies from his food bowl on a table to my chest(around 5 feet) and hates his cage lol...he doesn't spend much time in there. Haven't been logged in/posting for awhile trying to work with Marley and life getting in the way but hope all conure owners and little ones are well during this time. @Emeraldxo hope mango and your other babies are well. @Mockinbirdiva Hope you are well
Thanks for the advice with the seeds. I do feel bad when I have to put him in his cage because I'm at home most of the time and only put him in the cage when I run errands. He likes the zupreem natural alot on its own lol. He sleeps near my bed in a large bird travel carrier and woke up last night to get some water and found him looking so sad pressed against the front ...he is on me from 730a to about 9p. He has really been so good. Finally got a vet appointment for this friday for a check-up and dna test(found out I need back surgery and Corona has delayed things). I keep saying "he" but would be happy with a girl...most of my pets have been female lol. Had a weird experience with a vca near me where I asked about pricing for dna and basic blood panels and all they could tell me was the visit price. don't know if its common practice but ended up finding a vet my friends use about 10 miles from me that they swear by. Plus, they could give me ballpark prices for all the tests I was curious about. Do you have photo's of your little ones in your profile? I'm a young boomer with the forums still lol. Loving my green cheek and limited noise...most of the time lolI am well! Thank you for asking! Marley is precious and beautiful. I'm glad to hear he's coming along so well. You do need to let your conure have separate play time instead of being on you all the time. Even if it's outside of the cage you can set up an area for your bird to have a variety of perches, boings, toys to play with and shred.... and encourage him to play there. If you have to go for surgery for your back and have to keep him caged while you are gone it's a pretty big change of a daily routine that could have a detrimental effect on him.. even for a few days. Start doing this now to get him used to that before you have that surgery. When I raised cheeks and crimsons I did my own dna tests by ordering from Avian Biotech ( that was years ago). The cost back then was 19.50 for a blood dna test. I'm not the biggest photographer of my birds, I only have an older digital camera that most of them are fearful of so most of the photos I've posted of my birds are not very recent. These days most people have smart phones with great cameras in them... I don't... I'm a simple flip phone user since I don't care to spend much time on a phone. Thanks for the advice with the seeds. The @ is fine. I know aaaalll about mischievous behavior... and the comedy... they're always good for giving chuckles, unless they're screaming. The crimson clan can wear on my last nerve sometimes. I have to be in their room for them to be all out together or it's mayhem in a bad way. Thanks @Mockinbirdiva. He came at the right time after our 15 yr old jack russell passed...so smart and never disappointed. Marley makes me laugh. I call him the penguin because he quacks sometimes like the 60's Batman character and is too playful walking around like he's had a few. The laptop wires are covered and I made a perch for the top of the laptop. he comes and goes as he pleases...haven't had a boredom tantrum yet and very little excessive noise. Its crazy he flies to me or close when I move around. I haven't really trained for it. I will be going in for back surgery in late april/early may and will get Marley more use to the cage. I'm trying to hold out on surgery even though its needed because Boston has been hit with the corona virus pretty bad. We were late to test and are catching up to NYC numbers. The idea of a foot toy is awesome, I was looking at these cat toy cage balls with bells inside. He has been a little mischievous lol...I have one very small skin tag on my neck that is a favorite. I move him, he finds it again. He's definitely spoiled. Would it be okay to @ you or does this forum have a DM? With the time you've bred and raise I know I'll have a question every now and then. I worked around these guys a few years ago but being papa is different in itself.
Here is Petrie. I adopted him back in September. He was a stray that flew into someone's window. He is a complete dork, but has still managed to boss all our other animals around despite being the smallest.
Got to love GCC!

@Sharonitaw you have a sweet looking guy...although I 100% think he's plotting up high in the 3rd picture lol. Outside of the cats and dogs I've had I've never seen an animal manipulate a person so well...so watch out lol. Petrie is too cute. Love that you adopted.
Wonderful and what a precious BABY. I was hoping for a hen too, but either way is just fabulous.Hi all, The DNA results from my vet came back and Marley is a Male. I'm happy either way(was originally hoping for a girl), but not knowing drove me crazy. Marley's check-up and stool test both went well previously too.
Here's a new photo that is now my avatar photo...Marley being cradled like a baby. @Vmax @westvan gal @Mockinbirdiva
If the photos upload they go froM my first time meeting them to me bringing them home and then adjusting the first 2 days.I would love to see pics of all of our Greenies on here. Especially people with Turq Greenies,as I will be getting one if all works out this coming spring and I just cant get enough of them.
Here's my Nala baby to start, almost 5yr old DNA'd female.
