Heisinbird just passed away in my arms and I am a wreck. I just watched him die and I didn’t know what to do other than panic. I am in so much pain. I know there was nothing I could do and part of me wants to blame myself for not being able to save him and another part of me wants to blame the vet for not even trying to do anything other than give him pain meds. I just I don’t know what to do, I don’t know how to handle this, I can’t even get therapy. It’s just one horrible thing after another and I don’t know how to make it stop.

He was a good brother, son and husband, possible father if his eggs with Jessy hatch. Part of me hopes they do just so a piece of him will live on.

I am so sorry!! It does hurt so much. There is really no good way to prepare for losing a friend so very dear.

Heisinbird knew he was loved, and you did everything you possibly could to help him.

I'm so so incredibly sorry for your loss that sounds absolutely awful. When I lost my girl I also was unable to get therapy, I'm sure the pain of not being able to talk to anyone who understands just how much you truly love them is really hard. I know some vets do grief counseling for free, I would try calling Avian Health Services in the Diamond Springs office in California if you're in the U.S I know they do grief counseling for free if they have time. What helped me was going out more and letting all my tears out, writing about it, anything to let all the emotions out. Your feelings of anger are completely valid and a natural stage in the grief process, I wish the best for you, and your healing process. I'm so sorry and take care

Unfortunately, I live in North Carolina but it helped to post about it here and I do have loved ones to talk to even though they aren’t licensed.

The hurricane thankfully didn’t effect us too bad but I have had other bad things happening in my life that have made losing my children so much harder, from surviving an abusive relationship with permanent injuries to struggling to get my business off the ground.
