My 10 month old gcc is clipped, and I couldn’t help but notice some white tubular “pin feathers” (?). Is this the start of his wing molt?

that was from yesterday. They look more whiter and fuller today.

To me it looks like those are the clipped feathers. The white part is the feather shaft.

You may already know this but the way a molt works is that the existing feather will fall out completely and a new pin feather which looks similar to that shaft will be produced and grow from the feather folicle as the new feather grows and gets longer your bird will preen it and it will open up. Then he will have a brand new non clipped feather.

So keep an eye out for those clipped ones on the floor or in the cage because when they fall out the new ones will be on their way :)
