Sorry guys just got home from work and stuff. Sophie seems much better. The vet thinks it is probably just an infection in her lungs. They put her on antibiotics and also tested her for heartworm because she hasn't had any preventive for almost a year. He didn't mention kennel cough but I guess the "infection" could be kennel cough and he just didn't want to alarm me. He said that she has a little bit of a heart murmer which is why he wanted to test for heart worms and she is 2 pounds overweight. She will not be happy when I put her on a diet. The girl loves to eat! LOL We should get the results of the heartworm test back tomorow.
I left her at the vets when I went to work and she was very happy to see me. She looked pretty much 100% better.
Oh, and Cindy she is 10 so no she is not young.

I'm glad she is doing better. If it was kennel cough, they would have told you, I'm sure. Typically, there is more to Kennel cough then just the coughing. Did they say why they opted for sending the bloodwork out instead of doing an in-house heartworm? I'm hoping for good news tomorrow.

No, they didn't say. They said they'd have the results tomorrow though.

I've been thinking about it, and tho I can't speak for all vets, most of them, my clinic included, would not waste time by sending the blood off to the lab if there was even a feeling that heartworms were the cause of this coughing. Especially since we can run the tests, and check the blood under the scopes there in the office. Please keep us posted.

I didn't get the results yesterday. I was at work and they were closed by the time I got off so I will call them on Monday for the results.
