Pictures Does bumblefoot ever go away?

When chickens get bumble foot, it normally gets a large black scab on the foot. You can soak the foot in Epsom salt water, then take a knife and peel off the scab. Then use the knife to cut out the corn like infection in the foot. It leaves the foot with a hole that heals as long as you soak it and clean it regularly. I've never had to do it myself, but I've seen many people in my chicken group do it. So I'm also wondering if this is truly a bumble foot infection, or a pressure sore.

Bumblefoot is also used to refer to pressure injuries. It's kind of a catch all term for inflammation of the feet.

I don't have an answer for Java, but for what it's worth, Kev my handicapped tiel has also had a red area on one of her feet for months now. The vet said just keep using Silvadene on it and not to worry too much as long as it's not spreading or appearing to cause her distress.
