Hello-
We just had a poplar tree fall on our land and I was planning on using it for a play stand. My neighbor had an old maple stump that he helped me drill a hole in to make a base. I saw online that poplar was safe but saw that you would have to remove the bark for maple (it seemed red maples were the only issue, while I don't believe it's a red maple I'm not 100% sure. It doesn't even grow the red leaves). Does anyone know if I have to remove the bark on poplar trees as well. I'm finding conflicting answer and just want it to be safe. I have so far washed both down with a pressured hose, letting them dry out in the sun now (I heard an oven for smaller pieces is also good) and was planning on wiping and rinsing with vinegar and water after that.
Thanks!
