I currently moved apartments and my cockatiel has gotten hormonal since. I previously had her in a dark bedroom without a cover and she was doing great but now currently live in a studio apartment and had to use a cage cover to limit her daylight/light hours. The cage cover was somewhat see through and I've added more blankets to make it darker. but. I've heard that covers can also encourage hormones. Any advice would be appreciated.
