Oh my goodness you (and they) really lucked out! Who gave up those beautiful birds - wow!
They are gorgeous, and I can't wait to hear how they're settling in and see more pics! :congrats5:

Your dog is gorgeous, Scorpi0! I’d definitely keep them separate. My dog wants to hunt pigeons right out of the air, so I’ve no doubt my budgies would be in peril around her!
Yes he is a very sweet dog with lots of energy. But like all other huskies, he canbe a troublemaker!!
I pour seeds in the yard for all the wild birds to eat and sometimes Blue will run and chase them away. Im trying to teach him to stop doing that but I guess its just too much fun for him lol.

I dunno who gave them up but I’m glad they did and that I was there to pick them up :)
They are doing fine. We open up their cage everyday and give them some time to go out and explore.
One of them has trouble folding his foot in though. He also has a scab and deformed nails on the other foot. Not sure if its from the pain, but he does sleep a lot more than the other 3 birds. I’m taking him to the vet today to get checked up though. Hopefully its all just minor stuff and will heal on its own.

Yes, hope it isn't that bumblefoot! Good on taking him to the vet, let us know okay?

The vet checked him out and didnt mention anything about bumblefoot. He said whatever it is looks like it should heal on its own. He offered putting the bird on painkillers but I declined since I would have to feed it to him by syringe. I do not wanna put my little birdie through that torture. The vet also mentioned whoever clipped his wings had cut through a blood feather. It had clotted up but he said the clots can sometimes open up again, so to avoid that, he went ahead and pulled the feather out. He trimmed his nails too. Heres how his foot looked:

Awww - bless him, I can imagine the feather pulling trauma, but thank goodness no more worries with that. And glad to hear his foot should heal on it's own. Likely they did not have a variety of perches, and maybe his foot is reflective of that. Mine sure love their rope perches, and also the flat ones occasionally.

I had to take Twinkie to the vet today. He was bleeding from both wings. The vet said the bleeding had already stopped on its own. But it was due to the way his feathers had been previously trimmed. The vet suspected he just hit his wings on the cage and since those feathers were left longer than the rest, it caused the feathers to come loose and bleed? I wasnt too sure as to what the vet described, but she said Twinkie is fine. She said they were small feathers and they easily pulled out…so hes good :)

What a great mix of mutations. No excuse for confusing their names :D

Thank you all!
Yes they are all getting along for the most part. Just a little bit of the typical budgie bickering every now and then…but thats about it. I have noticed that the old flock is a little unhappy with the new birds and they are still sticking to their own group mostly lol. I think they’ll get over it soon though.
The little ones love to eat everything from seeds to pellets and fresh lettuce. They seem to be having a blast with all their newfound toys and freedom.
I am pretty sure on all their genders except for Misty though. At first I thought he cere was purple and transitioning to white. But now its looking a bit more blue. Maybe she’s a he?? :hmmm:
