Hello,
I’ve been having a lot of success syringe feeding my baby cockatiel who is now 4 weeks old.
Every morning, her crop empties, and there is a strong begging response. This morning, however, she wasn’t begging for food like she usually does. On average, I feed her 12mL at applesauce consistency, but today, she only ate 6mL. Is this normal??
I’ve been observing her, and there hasn’t been any personality or mobility changes. She still stretches, flaps her wings, walks around, and preens.
I’m really worried she’s sick because why would a healthy baby bird not want to eat, especially after 8 hours of sleep and an empty crop?? I don’t know what could’ve gone wrong.
