Zeke is sick

Is apparently very sick

*Partial* results are back from his blood work. Vet says the results indicate that there is something seriously wrong with his liver, however, they won't know exactly what until the full results (especially protein analysis) are back, and those will be delayed a bit due to the the holiday.

The vet wants to put him on a whole host of medications "just in case" until the results come back. Ugh.

Craig's on the phone with the vet now, the news we got was via a voicemail...

She thinks the most likely issue is heavy metal toxicity. We're going to leave the house in a few minutes to get milk thistle for her, which she will mix with something else to give him, as well as more doses of baytril and some other antibiotic.

Craig left to find some milk thistle and bring it to the vet.

Poor Zeke I really, really, hope that whatever he DOES have is something environmental from his old home(s) and not something contagious to the other birds.
He's in quarantine, but it certainly wasn't the best arrangement we could have done. We put him in Craig's office (that he never uses for anything but junk storage...) instead of the attic family room because Craig didn't want to run the attic's separate heating unit 24/7 during the winter. =\

Oi. For now, he's on three medications that he needs twice daily.
