The only real bonus to being in any sort of medicine is that it's a) easier for me to understand why different things mean what they do and b) I know exactly why it can be so hard to pin things down and we have to run all the (expensive) tests we do, like on House. I think that's the hardest part for most people... you can spend all this money, have a list of things it's NOT, but still have a sick pet (or child or spouse) and no idea what to do to fix it.
The bad part is that I worry and second guess everything because I know how much 'art' there is to the science of medicine. If it were all logical and organisms did what they're 'supposed' to, a computer would suffice. I know too many of the things that can go wrong or be missed or confusing or or or... yeah. I've spend a lot of my time researching lately!
