Hey guys, if you are in doubt of the lead content, send them to a test lab for processing rather than take the word of others or question the manufacture. Please post your certified results.

Why would you purchase them to test them ( the ones quoted by the OP) since the manufacturer already stated they contain lead? If they dont state they use food coloring/vegetable dye I wont buy them. Not worth the risk

Chris you are right, I agree.

As someone else has said - I wouldn't buy painted toys even if I knew 100% that the paint is lead free - paint chips under pressure, which means that eventually parrots would ingest some of the paint. That can't be good for them, with or without lead.

I've seen some people mention that they have used Kool aid, is that equivalent to food coloring?

Mighty Bird uses only safe coloring for all parts that are not natural. It is called Vida-Critter and have used them for years

We quit using ABC blocks from overseas and we didn't feel confident in using them due to suspected lead in the paint.

I do not buy toys for my Tiels. But if I did it would be natural stuff only.
If you want toys that are man made and coloured I would only go with vegetable dye.
No paint at all.
Food couloring dye's are not all safe, we are just told they are by the companies that sell them.

If they dont state they use food coloring/vegetable dye I wont buy them.
