[M.C Bird Rescue]

This bird is being surrendered next wednesday , I will be driving 6 hours to pick him up as the family who has this bird can not handle the vet care or after care of a surgery that is needed. Please look at the pictures and let me know what you think...

I think it is either a prolapse or a cyst.

The family contacted me today and there is also blood at the bottom of the cage. ALL input is needed.

I will be taking him immediately to the vet the day I pick him up. Meaning...I will be driving 12 hours round trip AND spending the day at the vets office with the bird.

I am putting a a page on my site for people to be able to donate for the vet care ..as this is an emergency and the family is unable to care or pay for it. I cannot let the bird perish!

He/she is 35 years old, on a 3D parrot Diet from walmart and salted pistachios.

Ohhh that poor sweet baby. I wish there was a way for you to get her sooner. She needs to be seen right away! I hope she holds out until you can get there. Glad you have a donation page for her on your website but I cannot find it. Does she have a name?

Looks like a prolapse to me...I hope she makes it until you can get her.

I am just putting it up. she sent me more pictures...I will post them in a second. Now with the new pictures and explanation I believe it IS a prolapse. She is stooling THROUGH the mass! If sunday was not Easter I would be ON MY WAY to get her then. But as it is..I cannot get up there sooner. They live near Traverse City..which is a 6 hour drive .

I agree. She needs to be seen sooner than Monday. That looks like a terrible prolapse to me. Time is of the essence.

I'm sorry in advance and please do not take offense. I know you are a rescue and do wonderful work, but I wouldn't wait. This baby wont make it, especially since there is blood present. A port for infection. She is getting closer to not making it as we speak and my heart is breaking. I assume this is in Michigan?

Also, is there no way for them to get her to an Avian vet there, and the vet bill the rescue?

who is doing your vet care crystal will they take it in right away..i may be able to pick up for you tomorrow if that would help i could leave in the am...that is really bad he may not make it tru wk end...

Crystal is there a avian vet in Traverse City they can get her to right now and then you pick her up when you can? Or do you want her to see your vet? Can't they get her to you? Why do you have to do all the driving. Or is there someone up in Traverse City who can meet you half way so your not driving so long?

Gosh darn it, I am so freakin mad at those people. What in the he(( is the matter with them that they let it get so bad.

Will your vet see them? They are willing to also donate some funds to this. I have put up a donations page for it also. I can have the money then donated wherever needed. You use a cert avian vet that can handle this right? I know you have a good vet up there.
