This forum is for advice about initial treatment given to your injured/sick bird until a qualified avian veterinarian is available. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO REPLACE VET CARE
Eek
Might be a silly question, but there's no chance he was eating something like blackberries or something dark that would add to the darkness of his poop? Dunno, but it would be awesome if the answer was yes
Saying many prayers for Max and sending many calming hugs to you, Ariahna. I hope you both sleep well so you both regain your strength. Ariahna, you did such a commendable job taking care of Max when you returned home from the vet. Even though you were very scared you did a tremendous job of carrying out the advice given, quickly and carefully. You are a wonderful parront.
I stayed off of this thread while people that had valuable info were on and posting -----but hopefully Max will be fine in the morning. You did a terrific job. I'm praying that all will be well.
I'm here also looking for news of Max this AM....Sending POSITIVE HEALING ENERGY along the way...I would also keep giving him the 50/50 Pedialyte / water for the day today.....and watch him...IF lethargic most of the time, I would call the vet and talk with them...Yes he needs to recover from the stress and keeping quiet/resting is what they do BUT fluffed feathers/not eating/drinking/active like that is a red flag....
