That's exactly what she was thinking too. After shredding the styrofoam insulation and kicking it out of there. I wasn't giving her a site so she decided to make one.

Sure hope that was a sacrificial panel John. Dobby has discovered the joy of gnawing on the cheap 1x trim strip in the laundry nook in the kitchen. Luckily so far that's the one spot and should be easy to replace once I figure out how to protect it. He has nifty chew toys in his house but as we all know chewing on the flock mates house is much better.

Well at least it appears to be a dedicated living area just for them so hopefully no extra holes in your house. Dobby hasn't made any holes yet but he sure has whittled down that one by as far as he can reach.
In my old rental a pipe burst in the wall between the kitchen and single bathroom. I talked to the owner and he said if I thought I could fix it just cut out a hole big enough to deal with it and one of his guys would fix the drywall later. I found it behind the dishwasher down by the floor. Cut out the burst copper pipe section, soldered in a new piece and covered the hole with a piece of thin wood paneling that could be removed later if needed to fix anything again. Put the dishwasher back after watching the repair and putting drying crystals back in the area to help pull the moisture out. Drywall dried out good enough, no mold, and pipe was still ok when we moved many years later. New house has a plumber made hole where the washer feed pipe was leaking. Nobody can see it unless they know it is there and same thing, easy access if either one leaks again. Might do the wood paneling again rather then put the piece back in, but my house and not planning on ever moving unless I can get enough to buy my dream house and not go backwards on payments.
