She's in the back room right now. They're doing bloodwork and gram stain. Doctor suggested a radiograph for possible metal toxicity but she also said metal toxicity is unlikely, due to her bouncing back so fast, so I declined on the radiograph. Did I make the right decision?? They'd have to sedate her for it and anaesthesia terrifies me.

they can always do a blood test for lead and zinc. I ended up doing that because nothing showed up on xray and she tested positive for both.

Okay, we are back at home. She's acting completely normal right now, so that's good. Vet says it could be any number of illnesses, or calcium deficiency, or heavy metal toxicity, or it could even be a random one-off thing (I'm not buying this reason). We'll have to wait for the test results.

I'm glad she seems ok now. Hopefully the results won't take too long, with the holiday this week. :hug8:

People with experience with heavy metal poisoning... if the toxicity levels were high enough to cause a seizure, wouldn't Josie be looking more sick? Other than the minute-long seizure and muscle weakness in the minutes after the seizure, she's completely fine. Absolutely no other symptoms -- she was back to her normal self within half an hour. No lethargy, good appetite, good energy levels... Any thoughts? It'll be days before I get the results, so just ruminating in the meantime to calm my nerves.
