So sorry , I have been in the same situations as you , not exactly, but the same, I should have ,would have, could have,.

We try so hard to give our animals the best we can and still somehow things like this can happen.

Their is always a risk when keeping bigger birds with smaller ones, even the same species has the potential to kill one another.

Males have been known to mutilate the females during breeding season in captivity, in the wild things happen too ! Life is cruel sometimes.

None the less you are hurting, and your heart is bleeding, for something you feel could have been prevented.

I know all to well how you are feeling, many scenarios in my life involving my animals , where hindsight was 20/20 .

I hash over and beat myself up.

For whatever its worth...If you were not upset and hurting about this, then something would be wrong with you, your love and compassion runs deep.

Thank you for all the kind words everyone. I decided to Bri g Weeble and Bongo into the living room today so I can keep an eye on him and put Beeper in the bird room. Little Bongo is chirping probably calling for her but seems less scared than he was yesterday. I'm just devastated. The whole thing is just so awful all the way around

I agree with J.T...Beeper did not maliciously kill Beans. They react from instinct. It just is what it is. Beepers is not capable of discerning. Animals live in the moment... In Beepers world all Bean was is an intruder in his space, simple as that.
