Tashi is a 24 year old B&G, very plucked, that was owned by a wonderful couple for the last 2 years. They rescued Tashi and a few other macaws from deplorable conditions. When they first got Tashi 2 years ago, he was diagnosed with liver problems. In the last few days, Tashi's conditioned has started to deteriate. She contacted me last week about taking all 8 of their birds due to financial issues that will not allow them to take care of their birds the proper way. She came into work this morning with Tashi totally lateral and very pale, somewhat yellowish tinge and breathing hard. I took him back and put him into oxygen and heat right away. I really did not think he would make it till noon, but he has. I've given him some meds and a nebulizing treatment at work and it has seemed to help. I had to leave work and run some errands and have left Tashi there in the O2. I'm going back in a few and give him another breathing treatment and do some xrays. I have drawn blood and will get the results tomorrow. He has since this morning, started getting back on his feet and even walking around the cage. He is eating now also. Please pray for Tashi that he can rebound from this. He needs all the prayers he can get. I would like to get him stable before I get the other birds. Thank you.
