Well we certainly didnt plan on this but we just couldnt leave her in the situation she was in. A friend of my mom had failing health and was unable to care for her anymore. She was living in a cage in the backyard under a tree and none of her kids (all grown) wanted her. She is 16 or 17 and not on a good diet, they were feeding her hot cheetos, peanuts in the shell and sunflower seeds. Despite all this she is a sweet girl, the woman called her a double yellow head, but I know its not but I didnt correct her. She gave us the cage she was in and a dog carrier for her night cage. We'll be buying a new cage asap for her but for now she is in our spare room in one of our other cages. I just couldnt bare keeping her in her old cage, it was awful. Will be taking her to the vet monday, she thankfully looks healthy and good feathers. Im glad she called and gave her to us, instead of selling her to someone.
Here is a pic we got of her before we brought her home, she looks like an orange wing or maybe a bluefront to me.
