MC goes to the bottom of the cage because he knows I'll open the door and give him head skritches. Secret tries going to the bottom of the cage and I'll go sit and talk to her but no way am I trying to skritch that bird with an open cage door.

Mostly I buy them, but in the past I have washed them and baked them in the oven. However, since realizing I can't be 100% sure a tree hasn't been sprayed, I'd rather not risk it and buy them.

This is from Phoenix Landing:
Cleaning
-‐Soak pine cones in vinegar water (about a cup of white vinegar to a gallon of water)
for at least 10
-‐15 minutes
this gets all the
dirt and bugs out. Rinse well and let air
-‐dry, about 24 hrs.(Wet Pinecones will close up, then open again
as they start to dry)Put the pinecones on a foil covered cookie sheet and bake at about 150 to 200* degrees for 20
-‐30
minutes to kill bacteria, molds
, etc.
, leave in the oven until completely cool.*Pinecones will combust at 240 degrees.

Until hormones kicked in, it was the normal level of tolerable yelling. And now - OMG, I expect him to explode into a great POOF of feathers!
I hope he gets over this soon and returns back to reasonable noise. Sometimes he wears me down so much, that I just don't care how much he yells. He has to stop sometime. It really annoys the tiels when W goes on full throttle.

Yup, still. The purchase of the cage for my upstairs office was one of the few good ideas I've had in the last 20 years. Hubby's co-workers say they don't mind hearing the noise on the conference calls, but hubby says he can't think with the racket. I understand that for sure.

All in all, Wasabi is still my favorite 'zon here.

Milton has upped his screaming since Buddy came to live with us...he actually gets into screaming contests with Buddy. The tiels just look at them both with this, "WHO THE **** IS SCREAMING" look on their faces...
