You are such a good mom! If she isnt going for it so far, that is great! Scout went for her foot right away. And then she went for it again as soon as they sutured it.

The collar is stressful because they cant groom themselves and they cant lift food to their beak with their foot. I hated watching Scout stumble around in it. I think it stressed me as much as her. :(

It is good to hear that she is eating, and leaving the stitches alone.

She's still being a brat with her meds, spitting them out.

Target's being treated like a Princess right now lol. With servants to wait on her around the clock.

@JosienBB How do you keep Target from picking at the area when you all are asleep?

Hope she continues to improve.

I don't sleep until she's asleep, and she doesn't pick when she's asleep :) I also wake up before she does.

That being said... she's been a good girl today and has not tried to pick at her stitches at all so far! :bliss:

Scout didnt pick her wound at night either. The whole thing happened late on a Sun night. I was so worried I would find her dead of blood loss the next AM. I was scared to check on her that night, in case I wake her up and she start mutilating her toe again. But she just crawled into her happy hut and went to sleep. The next day I took her to the vet first thing in the AM.

It sounds like Target is going to be okay! The longer she lets the wound heal, the better!

Target is very good today! She takes pretty long naps during the day (10am-11:30am, then 2:30pm-4pm), but when she's not active, she's super hyper lol. Minimal scratching at the stitches, which is good. But only if I leave her uncaged -- she picks them if I cage her. Makes it a bit unfair for my small monkeys because they can't come out as much, but oh well, they'll survive.
