i have done my research before getting a meyers parrot, he's a bit older and i can't blame him for being a bit on edge with a new home. i bonded with him before bringing him home. i explain a bit more in my other thread, so, read that if you want to know how i got him. he will step up, kiss, and he loves to chatter.
but, there is one thing that worries me, he will allow a head scratch here and there. but, if he doesn't want one or is scared, he opens his beak, leans forward, opens his wings and makes an 'ahh!' sound. is this something i should worry about? it's clear by his body language that sometimes he wants scratches, and sometimes he doesn't. i respect that. but, i don't want to let it go over my head incase this is something i really do need to worry about. he loves to chatter, and will talk until you talk back. should i play bird sounds for him? or would that scare him? sorry for all the questions, i just want my baby to be comfortable.
