Wow! another creature of beauty but I know nothing about.
Could you give us the low down on them and their habits please, just to fill me in?
Do they change colour at all or stay like that always? What a beauty.

oh my son would be so jealous. I know nothing about them either but I think he is gorgeous. For some reason the name Tango came to me when I saw him. I guess because he is tangerine color. My son has wanted a bearded dragon for a while now but he is only 8 so not ready for that kind of commitment. congrats! hes beautiful.

Thank you. I found him from a breeder that comes to our Repticon here. He has his own hammock and he is very cool and sweet.

Bearded dragons are another Aussie native reptile (like Slink). There's a couple of different sub-species and many morphs (or mutations) that have been created/line bred in captivity. They're now found pretty much throughout the World thanks, mostly, to illegal smuggling from Australia.

They're a desert species with the largest of the sub-species growing to around 2ft.

Their diet changes as they grow up - lots of insects when young, but changes to a much higher proportion of veggies as they get older.

Easy to keep in captivity; they eat well, and can be converted to formulated diets (pellets), and can become quite 'tame' and handleable.
