The fish person told me to do 100% water changes, and keep 1% salt and a half dose of melafix in the QT. The worst part has passed, the bleeding, which stopped fairly quick. Generally it heals up, and even fills out some with new tissue.

Sounds like you got good advice So sorry that this happened, I will keep Zorro in my thoughts for a speedy recovery!

You are all so great, I appreciate everyone's thoughts and encouragement. Another well respected fish person suggested they would never qt unless a fish had something that could make the others sick. The other person agreed that was generally good, but also thought to give him a chance to heal, and my other fish might pick on him. Well this afternoon I did decide it looked really good, but he was a tad depressed, so I put him back in the tank with his buddies. It gave him a chance to rest, and for the spot to heal over. He is doing great, and swimming normal.I just felt it is better for him to be in the stable parameters too. He ate good when I put him back in the main tank. I think he is going to be just fine.
Thanks for the concern about me too. I am feeling better tonight.

I tried to reply earlier today from my tablet, but it's a PITA to type on......anyway, I am so sorry that Zorro lost an eye.

If it makes you feel any better, one of my Neons is missing an eye too. I think my Betta (RIP) sucked it out. Accidents do happen and I am just so sorry that this happened to you, knowing just how much your Goldies mean to you.
