Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and prayers. Ginger, thanks for the special prayer. He is doing a lot of bottom sitting, but swam around a bit ago.
Oh no Carole. :hug8:

What do your fishy people say? I have really old goldfish and about 5 years ago one ????? lost his eye. ( so strange ) He lived another four years, my son called him one eye. They heal really well and quickly. I hope your little one has the same life our one eye did.
Sometimes one fish will pluck one or both eyes from another. Triggers are notorious eye pluckers, so are cichlids and oscars. The fish person told me to do 100% water changes, and keep 1% salt and a half dose of melafix in the QT. The worst part has passed, the bleeding, which stopped fairly quick. Generally it heals up, and even fills out some with new tissue. Still sux.:(

I'm sorry about your fish. I used to have a goldfish that I adopted from work who only had one eye. I had him in my pond for about a year when he got stuck on the filter and lost his other eye. It looked awful and I felt so bad for him. I used melifix and aquarium salt to help it heal and it did a great job. I find salt and melifix can heal almost anything with goldfish.

Wow! I didn't know a siphon tube could do that! Hope he is well and remember it was an accident. :)

I know how you must feel. As the rest of the group said, he will heal. I hope you both are better today.

:hug8:to Zorro. Fish are often much hardier than we think. I know you must feel badly because you think you might have caused it -- I do the same thing. I am always so, so afraid that with all my good intentions, I will harm my pets (that's why I was so sad when I found out that diatomaceous earth might have hurt Dovey's throat). You were just doing what you thought you should in changing the water. Don't beat yourself up. He will be all right, and he is lucky to have you. Someone else might not have even cared enough to set up the QT -- because he's "just a fish".
