What's done is done. Instead of cupping him out of a carrier, it might have been easier to put the carrier in the cage with door open (if you could have), or somehow setting up the carrier against the door and allowing him to come out on his own.


I do not recommend just placing your hand in or on the cage if he's showing fear. If you are sitting near him and he's showing signs of trying to escape, you are too close. Back up.
