She obviously isn't going to be able to maintain proper nutrients at this rate if everything run out the front. Every day that passes is a lowered percentage of recovery since she isn't under hospital care until the surgery.

How could I not help you with as much as I could spare. It could happen to me too. In fact, it very nearly did!!

I had a sun conure chick reserved for me from a breeder and it died before it was old enough to be sold, of something sounding awfully close to crop burn, though I didn't understand what it was at the time. I found out later that the breeder was rather a horrible dude who did not take care of his birds. I hope that someone will beat the crap out of him for whatever reason, and that someone else will turn a blind eye. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Did Peaches have bloodwork done while you were at the vet? Or at least a CBC to check for systemic infection?

Oh that is awesome, I didn't even get a chance to call the vet and it made it! I am sure there will be after care needed and you'll want to stay on top of checkups. Praying for her!

I've been following this since it was posted and i'm so glad to see Peaches will be getting the surgery! What wonderful people to donate - and what a lucky bird to have ended up with you, cynthia! I too have been following along with this and I am just amazed by your persistance to keep this beautiful bird (where others would have returned her had they not been AA people more than likely) but aside from that the outpouring backing you on this.
