Jackson's AA ss bought in 2002 is rusting. The new AA ss cages are gorgeous so I'm all set to replace it. Problem: out of stock till May :huh:
Trouble is she loves it and I'm afraid to get a different brand -- she is sooo comfortable in it, plus the new Chiquita is just beautiful -- I want it. She doesn't chew at it but has recently started traveling the bars so the rust is a danger. Trying to decide-- get a ss of another brand and hope she likes it, or get a powder coat Chiquita to tide her over till May and then get the ss?

this may be a blonde question, but can you have the one you have powdercoated to tide you over til May? (you could always use it in the outside playroom later) :)

not blonde at all but I have no idea who would do it...plus see i just found one for 270.00!! imma order it

Brunette question. Why spend the big $$$ on SS when they rust? Why not just get the powder coated less expensive one if you have to replace? I thought SS was lifetime.

apparently they (AA) are using better quality ss now....is what the guy said. I have ss A&E cages from 2007 that have ZERO rust, but the AA from 2002 did.

i called petco about their return/exchange policy in case of defects/damage and she said I would have to ship it back at my expense!:eek::eek:
Out of the dozen and a half cages I have about half have arrived with some shipping damage so I think not Petco...:rolleyes:

Do you have a Petco in town? You can go there and see if they have one.

I really think they were using a low grade of ss EVEN though they said it was medical grade 304 back then....
i can't see my A&Es rusting though...

I know someone with an AA A&E that rusted in 5 years :( I'm going with SS that comes with a lifetime guarantee from now on.

Lets hope not!

So since SS is suppose to be lifetime purchase.. the ones that have rusted, can you trade those parts in for free for new ones? Aren't SS cages a lifelong guarantee?
