I've heard of it as a remedy to plucking. That may be related to the allergy thing - bee pollen or honey from local bees can help alleviate allergy symptoms. I give honey to my dogs in the spring and summer. Honey can contain traces of something (salmonella, I think) in teeny quantities that don't affect humans but isn't recommended for parrots, so bee pollen is a great option for parrots. Didn't know they sold it at Whole Paycheck. Will have to make the trip.

Bee pollen is good but it needs to be organic and from wild flowers if at all possible (bees are dying by the millions from the contaminated pollen they are eating).
