Do you want an iPad, a Windows tablet or an Android tablet? I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and am happy with that. I had a Nexus 7 and liked the size and didn't want anything larger but I am actually very happy with the size of the Samsung.
Gosh could have used something smaller in Australia as it was impossible to lug my 8 lb laptop/access to the library & also have enough strength to drag another 20 lbs of food up the hill back home...
