Yuna Really Is A Hawk Headed Parrot!

She can bite like one too!
The nail groomers came. She had listened to all of the other birds get their nails trimmed. I just wanted them to check if she needed trimming, which she did not, but also remove her band. So I just went to her cage with bare hands, thinking she does not bite.
Oh yeah??
Oh YES SHE CAN!!
She got me good. My feelings are hurt too.
I think hearing everyone squealing and carrying on, she is smart..she knew what was coming.Well, at least we got that scary band off. It was really big on her, and could go past her elbow joint{or whatever the proper term is} I just totally forgot at the vet's since I was so stressed out about her illness.

Oh she is already over it. She really wasn't mad mad, just excited and not wanting to go to those scary strangers.

I do thanks! Yes, she has never even tried. Just excited cresty stuff and light beaking.

Aw yes, I can relate to that Carole ... Chester has given me a few good chomps! She was just protecting herself from all that was going on with the other birds. I know you would not have known this but you do now with how Yuna reacted ... like when I have birds to do things to, I always get the one who gives me the most trouble and do them first.

Thanks everyone! The pic actually does not look too bad. When she first bit me, it was the white, not bleeding, purple pushed back lump kind of bite. They are pretty nasty. Today I have a nice black and blue.
No hard feelings though. I know she didn't mean to. She was just scared...poor baby.
I have a feeling after what we went through medicating her, if I came at her with a syringe right now she might have the same reaction.

It does look painful! But dont forget her past before you got her. Maybe the noise of the other birds scared her enough to go into a flight or fight type behavior. Maybe she thought she was going to get taken away or the groomers voice reminded her of her past owners. Maybe she had a bad grooming incident before you got her. I am sure she didnt mean it, or didnt realize what she was doing at the time.
