Yellow Nape photos

Diego is my 13+ year old Yellow Nape. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old.

As with many amazons, he's quite
"food motivated" so it didn't take long way back when he was less than a year old, to master eating from a spoon.

We encourage lots of play time with Diego, as he tends to be typically amazon-ish, with weight gain

The amount of yellow is pretty individual, and can also take a long time to grow in. Danny's parents were still growing new yellow feathers when I met them and they were 10years old!

As with their napes, there is a lot of variation in size/weight - as far as averages go the YN is a slightly heavier bird than the DYH. It's so small a varience between the 2 species though that you may as well consider them the same size and probably wouldnt be able to tell looking at them unless the 2 being compared were at the opposite ends of the average.
