There is a recent wildfire in Canada. I live in the east coast where the wildfire is near. I noticed the wind is blowing smoke into my direction and it’s around 300 in the AQI. I keep the windows and balconies closed. Currently there’s a slight haze. And it seems to get worse in a 5 hour span. Please help me and my bird, We don’t know what to do!!! :scared2: and no I don’t live in new york.

Close doors air vents and windows so no outside air comes inside, if needed you can wet sheets or towels so they’re damp and use them to block the air vents on window and door frames and bottoms of doors.

What’s the New York comment about?

Thank you for the advice. The new york comment was about in the map it only shows new york. I hid my city name so nobody would see it. I just don’t like showing it. And people might think I live in new york. Also I live in an apartment so I don’t need to worry about the doorways but I must block all windows.

I’m in Ottawa. We’ve had it since Monday morning. I’m not opening windows & have turned up the air purifiers. Keeping the bird room door closed too.

This morning the air quality was 29 out of 10, with 1 being ideal. At least there’s no fire here. I remember the eerie orange glow below the smoke when I was working up north. We were on evacuation alert.

The most awful thing is that apparently some of the fires are being set on purpose to protest environmental issues.

Where I'm at the air quality is considered poor. Not horrible but not good. I'll close windows. The temperature isn't too bad low 20sC but if it gets hotter and the air quality stays poor I don't know what I'll do? Hopefully things will settle down.

I have a pet Austin air purifier, I need to change the filter soon but I'm not sure where to find them. Apparently because of covid Austin air prioritized other air purifiers over the pet one. Does anyone know if you can use a different filter on the pet air purifier? I might have to phone around. I'm so broke right and they're so expensive, so I have to save up. But I'd like to know how much I have to save up for
