Which pellet brand, Harrison’s or zupreem?

Hi, Jasper my ten year old Meyers parrot will need new pellets soon. She is ok with zupreem natural parrot and Conure or Harrison’s coarse maintenance diet.
Does anyone have a preference between these two for their poicephalus? Prices are pretty comparable.

she leaves lots of dust with tops so I’d rather not feed that. And I don’t think she likes the Harrison’s pepper as much; I thought she’d love it but it’s taken some convincing.
Basically I buy a big bag and put it in the fridge and keep a small bag or jar of pellets near the cage for daily use. It’s lots more expensive to buy one pound at a time.

Willow hasn’t been going through the Harrison’s fine maintenance very quickly and I know Jasper will eat those too, but maybe the big ones would be preferred?
Does anyone in the US have a preferred pellet for their poicephalus?

Let me tag @Mizzely. She's the queen of pellet and diet info and has Ripley of course.

I feel like I have more waste with the Harrison's because of how it crumbles when Ripley (Jardine's, poicephalus family) chomps it. But he won't he Zupreem currently so that's where I'm at

Depending on how long it takes you to go through a bag, Zupreem may give you more consistent vitamin levels. Harrison's doesn't have preservatives so they say their bags should be used within 6-8 weeks.

Ok. That’s good advice. I think there’s less waste and dropped pellets with Jasper using Zupreem pellets, too. So I will probably order the zupreem.
have your guys tried Harrison’s pepper pellets?

Yes I alternate between Pepper and High Potency. Ripley won't eat the plain Lifetime.

I haven't tried the Pepper with Bosco (Linnie). He eats the Lifetime :)

I think Willow Quaker likes high potency better than plain but that’s a whole nother question.

Yes, Ripley is chronically underweight and has lasting effects from being on a poor diet for most of his life, so I'm okay giving it to him. But if I don't alternate pellets, he gets bored and stops eating them altogether so this is my compromise. I do also feed Psittacus pellets alongside the Harrison's.

No poi's here, but no one will eat Harrisons. I ended up giving most of a large bag to the squirrels :meh:

Zupreem and Roudybush are my go to, but I also use the flavored Zupreem pellets because no one likes the naturals.

Toddlers, amirite? Lol

I've definitely been incredibly lucky that every single Fid I've tried Harrisons with has been a smash hit. 5 total over 4 species.

Huh. Jasper is a pretty good eater. I’m thinking of seeing if she will help finish Willow’s Harrison’s fine as I don’t like keeping it for a long time. It’s in the fridge but still…
