Oooh I absolutely adore the small wild geckos. So cute.
I was so excited to see him! I just love our little tubby geckos. I’m not certain but I seem to think this guy is a marbled gecko, this is the first one I’ve seen here at this house. Our frog population seems to be growing also as we’ve now seen quite a range of sizes of frogs which is great :bliss:
Don’t tend to see geckos and frogs in every garden here like you do with skinks so I really feel excited and kinda honoured that we’re finding them in our yard.

Ohhh! Love this! It made me think of an encounter I had with a lizard at Slab City in Niland, CA several years ago. It was the one and only time I've seen one of these in the wild. I hadn't even known they existed in Southern California! Or anywhere in the US for that matter! It's a desert iguana! 100221.jpg 83920.jpg 59399.jpg

There are several reasons. One could be that you have a gas leak.
View attachment 456177

For other reasons see here.

Thats interesting.
It was the first and only time they did that…. that im aware of.
It was summer and there is no gas utility out where im at.

Don't think I ever showed this,a juvenile Bobcat I saw a few months ago passing through the field. Sadly a terrible pic,I tried to creep closer but of course was spotted right away and he melted into the shadows before I could get a better pic.

Can’t remember if I shared this little guy living in my sons external bedroom door frame. View attachment 456343
I love my lizards. We don't have any geckos that I know of in South Carolina. I just ordered these charms last night to make a pair of earrings with... or two necklaces depending on what kind of vibe I get when I receive them. They aren't big as they may seem in the picture... 27mm x 16mm wide. Loved the moon lady charm too and a few others.

Officially concerned since about ten minutes back lmao.

There is something in my roof which going on the sound of it and its rection to my bashing directly under it is definitely not a mouse or rat (thank goodness!), moves wrong for it to be a cat, possum (wrong time to be hearing a possum too so can rule that out for sure) or bird and it sounds way too much like a large (like huge) snake sounds as it drags itself across dry leaf litter etc. Whatever the heck it is I believe it has to be a decent size given the noise I can hear coming from it moving about.
It is starting to bother me as I am unsure of exactly what it is or how the heck it got in my roof and I can not get in there to check what it could be as I can not climb back down a ladder safely anymore.

Honestly if I was a cat I would be dead- curiosity is gonna kill me, if I was ok with wasting money I would be knocking some peeking snooping holes in my ceiling to find out what it is and work out how I can move it on.

Omg It just fell down the wall cavity and now sounds like it is gonna bust through the wall :cautious: :wideyed:

I bloomin hope it is not! We have enough animals here that do not belong but I do not believe we have any racoons... actually now I have to find out if we even have a zoo with them! I am sooooo curious I hope it goes away or shuts up cos I can see myself making holes to peek in. Honestly I am like going crazy trying to work out what it might be lol

I'mo stay up all night waiting to find out what it is. Call the hot line to your son... needs to come home asap. :scared1:
He's home, given how he nearly jumped out of my moving car for a cute little huntsman. He also stopped stepping outside the back door for approx 2 weeks after seeing a snake in our yard so he is honesty the last person that would be helping me lol

I hope it's a koala. They're so cute! I'd have to look. You don't have a trap door in the ceiling to see into the attic/ space? We do. I'd get a long pole, attach a mirror to it and have a lookie loo around. Oh.. maybe it's a fruit bat! Not enough space in the wall for a chunky wombat. Hmmmm :think1:

Ugh.. huntsman! Scarier than a copperhead snake. You know those cute little grey squirrels we have in the states? They're not so cute when they do damage like this to your house. Little bugger was pulling and chewing on the vent cover to get into the house!

I am so happy to report it most def wont be a koala! Cute?? lol have you heard them fighting or being really unhappy? They are like grump old drunks most times hehehe but they are awesome!

Actually had not thought of a bat and I sincerely hope it is not a fruit bat as I do not believe it would be able to survive the heat in that roof today. Anyhow you, why in the heck are you wishing such horrid excitement on me? lmao Omg wombats are wonderful and def way too large for getting into my roof lol, one used to live under my grandfathers house when I was really young.

OMG the cute little squirrels are like our cockies renovating houses lol

The suspense is getting to me & I only just read this! Nevertheless, I urge caution. Some of what it might be sound concerning!

Oh yes... I've watched enough Koalas on tv to know they aren't the cuddle bugs most people think they are and those boys are quite vocal! I remember seeing a news report when Australia had those awful fires and a woman took her shirt off to cover a koala and rescue it. She didn't give it a second thought but also probably didn't think she would be seen in her bra grabbing a helpless koala all around the world news.

Not wishing you any horrid excitement .. but I'm anxious to read a fun event! Any update? Could be a giant lizard! I'd be outside looking for an entrance to see what could get in. Take a wall switch plate off and stick a camera in... :popmnst: I hope it's not a poop monster!!!!! :D:cautious:

It has been quiet today, my hopes after listening to it last night is that it was a bluetongue or a goanna but either way I am concerned today as there has been no more sounds as of yet so hopefully whatever it was made its way out and took off but I am sure in another day or so being as we have a few more warm days I will know for sure.
