Week 1 Observations (for the record)

A few interesting observations from week 1 with our new Linnie's:

1. So I've read that Linnie's like their spray showers. Now that they've been home for a week ours have warmed up to their cage and are no longer fearful of the bottom. Soooooo, during today's shower Jasper went to the bottom of the cage and laid down and spread his wings out! It was a totally awkward position - is this a Linnie thing?

2. Vigorous flap-outs in the cage every once and a while. A good thing?

3. Asking to be let out. Climbing to side of cage and eyeballing play gym while clucking. Then sitting at the closed cage door. Alternate until desired result achieved. It's interesting because if one goes out of the cage upon his/her request, and the other remains behind, they don't contact call. It's like if you follow their lead, one has already let the other know what's happening - or they need a break from each Other!

4. Holding one another's feet. Seemingly not aggressive. For the last couple days Buttercup puts his/her foot on Jasper's back during a mutual preen. Hmmmm.

5. Increased time spent on cage floor (when we are in the room near the cage). I will chalk this up to it being a vision cage and them having realized that they have a clear view from down there.

6. Love love loving fresh food!!!
