WE SHOULD HAVE CONTEST AND CHALLENGES!!!

I like to talk on Parrot forums and what I like about them is that there are POTM (Photo Of The Month) contests every month. Its really fun!. Every month someone chooses a theme and everyone posts a picture or video related to that theme and at the end of the month people vote on what post they like best. I think this would be a really fun thing that we could add to this forum.

Maybe we could even make up our own monthly challenges!!
Does anyone else agree with me that we should do this??? (We should start a protest )

We have a calendar contest once a year and during the SWS twice yearly we do raffles for our vendors stores on here. But I believe that's the main things the board does.
Am I missing anything @Mizzely ?

I believe the forum did something special for veteran members

Contests are work So that's the biggest reason we haven't done one in a while. If you guys want to suggest ideas for contests, feel free! It won't be monthly though!

I think forums contests are really fun. I know a forum that does heaps of photo contests with all sorts of themes, etc.
I basically gathered that AA doesn't do contests often due to the work, the staff have to volunteer their time to run them.
I'd be keen to see more if the staff are willing

That's true. Some other forums generally have a free upgraded membership for X amount of time, AA doesn't have that so other prizes would be needed.
Are the sponsorships generally just from vendors, or do other members donate?

Generally we have asked vendors to donate, however we've had members in the past donate raffles and stuff so it's not outside the realm of possibility!

My mom misses helping me with Bingo. When I mentioned I might volunteer with a Bingo Tournament, she actually clapped her hands and went "Oooohh Bingo"

So if Bingo ever comes up again let me know!

Not the same as a literal contest, but Secret Santa here this year is my favorite activity-type thing I've ever been part of on a forum! It was SO much fun and I honestly don't think it could even be recreated elsewhere. The amount of work on the back end and the number of people participating was really beautiful!

I like that idea - easier than getting a sponsor to donate prizes!
