My mom’s cockatiel is having strange droppings. They are very watery and black with some clear liquid and completely undigested seeds. I mean the seeds look perfectly clean and untouched, not just grit in the poop. She is behaving totally normal. Her beak isn’t red or watery, and she was alert before we put her in the cage to get some sleep.
I absolutely want to bring her to the vet, but I live in a smaller town. We have a couple vets who take some birds, but none who specialize in them. So I probably can’t get one until sometime tomorrow, and it will also probably require a road trip.
Do any of you have an idea about what might be wrong or what I can do to help the bird until we get to the vet other than offering lots of water and trying to make sure she gets enough sleep?
Sorry if this repeats somebody else’s post or isn’t in the right thread. I just couldn’t find another post where the food was so completely undigested. Thanks for any advice you can give.
