Hello, bird lovers! I just registered while I try to learn all I can before my next bird hatches, grows, and is weaned. Looking at this May for bringing it home.
I have not had a bird in years. Thru my life I have had parakeets, doves, finches, and a red-lored Amazon, but never a cockatiel and I do look forward to it. I am trying to learn all I can before starting the journey with the new bird. Any free advice is gladly accepted ( actually, that means:Help!). I have questions galore like: How are cockatiels different from parakeets and larger parrots? What extra considerations should I take with a very young bird while introducing it to a new environment? Is there any way to find a hint whether a young cockatiel is male or female? Should I plan to have a second bird or will this bird be ok with me as its sole companion? (That, I know, depends the bird!) Questions galore!
